Purdon Groves - It's Not Just For Creatives!

Houston and I love telling all kinds of creative people about Purdon Groves - how we're building a place where people will be inspired to connect, celebrate, reflect and create. But this opportunity isn't just for artistic types.


Face it: we all need to occasionally step out of our normal routines. Just being in nature, away from our everyday lives, gives us a chance to either pause and reflect in solitude or, in some cases, to team up with others for the greater good.


A few days ago, our friend Matt, worked alongside Houston at Purdon Groves, cutting down a couple of trees (don't worry - our friend Danny will be repurposing the Red Cedars) and installing our new sign. For the better part of the afternoon, they set aside their technology and talked.

Canning with Trudy: Part 2

Two days ago I arrived at our farm to find all of the hydroponic tower plants limply hanging out of the tall white towers. I knew it had to be a power issue. It wasn’t long before I found the problem.

Today was so much fun. I got to hang out with Trudy, who taught me how to can vegetables. I grew up in rural Appalachia and was even in 4-H, but to my knowledge I never personally canned produce. Howe
